The PDP issued the on the new gTLD Subsequent Procedures on 18 January 2021, and was subsequently adopted by the GNSO Council on 18 February 2021 and was provided to the Board for consideration. The Working Group reviewed the SSAC’s advice in SAC090 and the PDP Final Report references SAC090 in Topic 21: Reserved Names and Topic 29: Name Collisions. As a result, the implementation of this Advice is considered complete.

Phase 2AP FeedbackSSAC rejected statement of understanding and provided the following clarifying comments: There are three concerns here. First, the use of the phrase “subsequent new gTLD procedures” allows for the ambiguity of associating this recommendation with the PDP working group of the same name. This is not SSAC’s intention. Second, SSAC does not mention “procedures” but rather the action of adding any TLD name to the global DNS, i.e., adding a label to the root zone. Finally, this phrasing substitutes “gTLD” for “TLD”; SSAC stated and intended the use of “TLD”, i.e., to include both gTLD and ccTLD.
