    1. Transfer Policy Review PDP WG Draft recommendations on Authinfo Codes:

      • Draft Recommendation 1: The Working Group recommends that the Transfer Policy use the term “Transfer Authorization Code (TAC)” in place of the currently-used term “AuthInfo Code.”
      • Draft Recommendation 2: The Working Group recommends that the Transfer Authorization Code be defined as follows: “A Transfer Authorization Code (TAC) is a code created by a Registrar to validate that a generic top-level domain (gTLD) transfer request is submitted by the authorized person. A TAC is required for a Registered Name Holder to transfer a domain name from one Registrar to another.”

    2. From the GNSP-TPR discussion on Losing Form of Authorization:

      • Several ccTLDs do not use any FOAs
      • Delays transfer for up to 5 days, so nice that it could be optional – particularly if we could do it faster. Would like to leave it optional if the registrar thinks it’s necessary for its registrant.
      • Reminder that there is a gaining FOA that a gaining registrar used to send to confirm their desire to transfer; the losing FOA was a form of acknowledgement of intent to transfer. The current transfer mechanism identifies those two steps.
      • Make it better – to require that it is as easy to accept the transfer as to deny it.
      • Is the Losing FOA a second level of security?
      • If no Losing FOA: Need a way (process) to reverse a transfer. Chat comments indicate that the Transfer DIspute Policy is - in general, not used. "Conflicts" are solved between the losing and gaining registrar.
      • Hijacked domains: It is not the Transfer Policy that is broken in cases of crime

      Working document Losing FOA created.
