San Francisco Bay ISOC

The San Francisco and Bay area Internet Society (SF-BAY ISOC) chapter was officially recognized by the Internet Society (ISOC) on Feb 16th 2009. The SF-Bay ISOC chapter serves the San Francisco Bay Area including Silicon Valley by promoting the core values of the Internet Society. ISOC is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 to provide leadership in Internet related standards, education, and policy. With offices in Washington, USA, and Geneva, Switzerland, it is dedicated to ensuring the open development, evolution and use of the Internet for the benefit of people throughout the world.

The SF-Bay chapter mission are the following:

  • Enable members to exchange technical, policy, or otherwise relevant information amongst themselves.
  • Provide the opportunity for outreach from the chapter to the local community on these topics.
  • Promote the core values of the Internet society.
  • Interact with other ISOC Chapters and groups, as well as relevant groups outside of ISOC.
  • Develop programs related to standards, public policy, and education for the membership.
    SF Bay ISOC members enjoy the connection and collaboration beyond our region to those from ISOC headquarters and Internet Society Chapters and members from over 80 countries around the world. SF-Bay ISOC officers regularly attend ICANN and IETF meetings around the world to keeping the SF-Bay area informed and extending your voice in Internet policy on a global level. |
