About

The ICANN Policy Development Accelerator program provides opportunities for newer ICANN community members to build substantive knowledge on a specific topic, while fostering value in service and relationships through connections with experienced ICANN community members. The Accelerator program is offered annually, with each class divided into two distinct terms.

The first term of each annual class is focused on a specific policy topic where participants engage with the content through self-paced learning modules, interactive group discussions with subject-matter experts, and role play exercises. The second term is a series of live workshops built from ICANN Learn courses that practice and cultivate the skills necessary for active participation in policy and advice development.

Expressions of interest for the next class of the Accelerator will open in August 2024, so stay tuned for an announcement soon.

Details

Participants meet monthly through Zoom. Participants receive sequential modules that include background summaries, webinar and session recordings, and other relevant resources that offer differing points of view. Participants are expected to study these materials and participate in both interactive discussion sessions with subject matter experts and on a dedicated mailing list. Participants also engage in a small group role play project. ICANN organization Policy Development Support staff facilitate these interactions.

Eligibility

Candidates from all regions and sectors are welcome to apply. Before completing the expression of interest, participants must ensure the leadership of their ICANN community group supports their participation in this program.
