WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS REVIEW?
The Registration Directory Service Review, formerly known as "WHOIS" (RDS-WHOIS2) is mandated by ICANN Bylaws Section 4.6(e) to assess the effectiveness of the then current gTLD registry directory service and whether its implementation meets the legitimate needs of law enforcement, promoting consumer trust and safeguarding registrant data.

Join the RDS-WHOIS2 Review Team at its first face-to-face meeting on 2 – 3 October in Brussels.
Learn more.At this meeting, members of the ICANN organization will brief the RDS-WHOIS2 Review Team on ICANN’s implementation of the first WHOIS Review Team’s recommendations. The Review Team also plans to finalize and approve its terms of reference and work plan, including the scope of the work that will be undertaken by the team. Learn more.
