AP RALO meeting

13:30 - 15:00, Buenos Aires Room

This afternoon, members of ICANN ALAC/ALSs from Asia Pacific had a meeting and discussed about how to form APRALO. We talked about the MoU, taking lessons from LAC RALO process, in particular. For that we like to express further thanks to the hard and sincere works of our friends from LAC region. It gave us great incentives, indeed.

We tentatively agreed to organize a meeting to prepare the formation of APRALO of ICANN in the next ARPICOT meeting in Bali
at the end of February 2007. If everything goes fine, then we may conclude all the MoU work and agree with ICANN there. We may then have innaugulation ceremony at ICANN Lisbon meeting in late March.

Of course, this is still tentative and subject to many factors including, but not limited to, how many ALSs could actually participate in and also financial support from ICANN to be confirmed.

The members attended today's meeting include:
Hong Xue, Siavash Shahshahani, Izumi Aizu, Kuo-wei Wu, Jonathan Shea,
Edmon Chung

Also: Vittorio Bertola, Sebastian Riccardi, and Nick Ashton-Hart. (please add names if I missed)
