PURPOSE OF THIS REVIEW?

Organizational reviews are mandated in ICANN Bylaws to take place every five years across all supporting organizations and advisory committees (SO/ACs), and the Nominating Committee (NomCom), and are conducted to examine (i) whether that organization, council or committee has a continuing purpose in the ICANN structure, (ii) if so, whether any change in structure or operations is desirable to improve its effectiveness and (iii) whether that organization, council or committee is accountable to its constituencies, stakeholder groups, organizations and other stakeholders.

FInal NomCom2 Review Implementation Working Group (NomcomRIWG) Progress Report

22 August 2022 - The NomCom2 Review Implementation Working Group submitted to the OEC its fifth and final six-month implementation status report that is overseeing the implementation of the 27 recommendations of the second Nominating Committee Review (NomCom2). Read it here.

NomCom Review Update for ICANN70

During the ICANN70 Prep Week, the NomComRIWG hosted a one-hour webinar on Wednesday 10 March 2021 at 15:00 UTC to provide a progress update on the first year of implementation for the NomCom review. More details here.

Update on Implementation Milestones and Next Steps

The NomComRIWG hosted a one-hour webinar on Wednesday 17 June 2020 at 16:00 UTC to provide an update on the implementation of the 27 recommendations laid out in the NomCom Review Detailed Implementation Plan and that were accepted by the ICANN Board. The NomComRIWG also provided an update on next steps and when to expect their first implementation report. More details here.

Six-monthly written implementation reports

The NomCom Review Implementation Working Group has commenced implementation, and has scheduled to submit on 30 June 2020 its first six-monthly written implementation report on progress to the Organizational Effectiveness Committee of the ICANN Board (OEC). More details here.

NomCom Review Detailed Implementation Plan accepted by the ICANN Board

7 November 2019 - The ICANN Board accepted the NomCom Review Detailed Implementation Plan and directed the NomCom Review Implementation Working Group to commence implementation, in accordance with the Detailed Implementation Plan and to provide updates to the Organizational Effectiveness Committee of the ICANN Board (OEC) through six-monthly written implementation reports on progress. 13 September 2019 - The NomCom Review Implementation Working Group (NomCom RIWG) submitted to the OEC its Detailed Implementation Plan, for consideration by the ICANN Board, in accordance with the approved ICANN Board resolution on 14 March 2019.  

Call for Volunteers: NomCom Review Implementation Working Group

25 March 2019 – The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), together with the Nominating Committee (NomCom) Review Implementation Planning Team (IPT), is seeking volunteers to join the NomCom Review implementation working group. The results of this working group will impact all of ICANN's community so it is critical that all of ICANN's Supporting Organizations, Advisory Committees, as well as relevant stakeholder groups and constituencies participate. ICANN Board accepted the NomCom Review Final Report and the NomCom Review Implementation Planning Team's Feasibility Assessment and Initial Implementation Plan

14 March 2019 - The ICANN Board accepted the NomCom Review Final Report and the NomCom Review Implementation Planning Team’s Feasibility Assessment and Initial Implementation Plan. The Board also resolved that “the NomCom Review Implementation Planning Team convene a working group that drafts a detailed implementation plan of the recommendations, as detailed in the FAIIP.
