4.  Update on possible on possible LACRALO events in Costa Rica

...

The view was expressed that there was no support for LACRALO on the part of the ALAC. OCL explained that ALAC has pressed the Finance Committee to support LACRALO’s proposals to hold events in Costa Rica.   Points of view were expressed that there should be a deadline for ICANN’s finance department to decide on the funding for Costa Rica’s events; otherwise LACRALO would risk running out of time and not being able to organize anything. At Large’s Director Heidi Ullrich explained that At Large staff is very well experienced in organizing these types of events and should be able to assist LACRALO and that a response was expected from ICANN Finance early next week.

...

- Having a showcase is important to highlight the activities of ALSes in LACRALO to ICANN and other RALOs. ALS reps that do not attend in person can still be shown to the wider At-Large and ICANN by the proposed videos.

5. LACRALO  LACRALO Proposal for FY13

The budget requests from LACRALO to have a Multi-day gTLD  gTLD Workshop at LACIGF in August 2012 will be reviewed by the ALAC FBSC and ICANN’s Finance  Finance department. This is a ‘Plan B’ if the LACRALO events in CR are not approved. Concerns expressed that the LACRALO Proposal for FY13 didn’t include LACRALO reps already funded for CR ; it was pointed out that several ALS reps are already going to LACIGF and hopefully the numbers would balance out.
