Registrar Across Field Address Validation

The WHOIS Accuracy Program Specification of the 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement requires registrars to validate and verify

At present, implementation activities surrounding the AFAV requirement are on hold, due to issues surrounding data protection, the Temporary Specification on Registration Data, and ongoing related work among ICANN and community members.

 


 

Upcoming Schedule:

Wednesday December 14, 2016: ICANN will send out a Call for Volunteers to all Registrars to participate on the Working Group

Week of 2 and 9th of January 2017: ICANN will send out a Call for Volunteers reminder communications with a deadline of 15 January 2017

Week of 16 January: New Doodle Poll will be distributed to the updated Volunteers List

Week of 30 January: First ICANN/WG meeting will occur. Proposed Agenda will include:

  • Summary of legacy work completed by WG/ICANN staff
  • Purpose of re-engagement and discuss objectives of Registrant Address Validation

    • Any additional topics proposed by the Working Group
