This is the collaborative work space for the Implementation Review Team (IRT) for the gTLD Registration Data Policy Implementation project. We refer to this project as RegDataPolicy and do not use an acronym.

Project Status

Implementation Team is in process of designing and building an implementation plan that will be published for public comment. Community members interested in participating in the implementation review team are encouraged to submit application to join the IRT. The first IRT meeting is schedule for 29 May 2019. Please apply quickly as this implementation is happening in an expedited manner following the EPDP.

Background

ICANN org implemented the Interim Policy pursuant to the Board of Directors’ 15 May 2019 adoption of recommendations contained in the Final Report of the Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data Expedited Policy Development Process (EPDP) developed by the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO). The Interim Data Registration Policy for gTLD maintains requirements for the contracted parties, as an interim Consensus Policy, from the Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data, which expires 20 May 2019, pending ICANN org’s implementation of the gTLD Registration Data Policy recommended by the EPDP team.

The ICANN Board accepted 27 of the 29 recommendations included in the EPDP team’s Final Report. Of the two recommendations not adopted in full, the Board identified portions of the recommendations that require further consultation with the GNSO.
