  Heidi Ullrich:+1

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:

Alfredo Calderon:Some case studies where succesful would be great.

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:

Abdeldjalil Bachar Bong:hello everyone sorry for being late joining the meeting

Maureen Hilyard:I like the idea that you are creating an onboarding resource from which people can select based on their audience, as you say

  Bartlett Morgan:Hello everyone

Heidi Ullrich:New Community Onboarding Program wiki workspace:

Maureen Hilyard:If you have standard slides, then when they mix and match then the format and design is consistent

Siranush Vardanyan:A good idea would be to create an e-learning course, like was done based on ccNSO Onboarding materials - this will be At-Large E-course

  Sarah Kiden:Agree with Siranush

Heidi Ullrich:Following up from the thread of updating the Beginners Guides and making them into a more updated format, the Communications Dept suggested Rawshorts:

  Heidi Ullrich:Animated whiteboards

Maureen Hilyard:@Dev I agree about a consistent look and feel of the presentation

Alfredo Calderon:I actually did the ccNSO eCourse.  Good introduction, but I thought it lacked some multimedia linkage to more details, for those interested in learning more.

Abdeldjalil Bachar Bong:I fully with Siranush's idea also we can use all the materials of capacities building monthly webinars

Maureen Hilyard:But an eLearn course would also be another way of getting our important messages out.. I think we are having to provide different ways and means of sending out these messages

Siranush Vardanyan:@Alfredo, agree, it is just a starting point and was first try from ICANN Learn team and suggestions to develop it further are more than welcome and helpful

Siranush Vardanyan:it is just my personal opinion ;)

Dev Anand Teelucksingh:i'll respond to the comments

  Alfredo Calderon:@Siranush. Great starting point.

  Maureen Hilyard:@Siranush A valuable opinion :)

  Siranush Vardanyan:thanks, Maureen :)

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):online and interactive is a good option to have...  self directed learning

Alfredo Calderon:Something like beginners and advanced

  Alfredo Calderon:Newcomers versus "Digging into..."

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): dynamic is important that makes good sense Heidi,

Maureen Hilyard:I really like this policy issues slide

  Siranush Vardanyan:Good point, Alfredo

Alfredo Calderon:Heide, makes a good point on how to make the materials comprehensive but not overwhelming.

  Maureen Hilyard:+1 Alfredo

Abdeldjalil Bachar Bong:we can also localize the resources locally for our local community by downloading the video presentation and present to our community for more engagement and involvement helping to help the internet connection connectivity issue

  Glenn McKNight:Death by POwerpoint

Heidi Ullrich:@Abdeldjalil - very good idea!

Abdeldjalil Bachar Bong:training of 1 hour with QA

Heidi Ullrich:@Dev - I would suggest putting it in several locations: 1) ICANN Learn; 2) SC on O/E workspace; 3) Each RALO's homepage on the wiki/web

  Heidi Ullrich:Promote, promote, promote :)

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):indeed Heidi

Heidi Ullrich:and perhaps have a webinar for all RALOs on how these slides could be used for orientation

  Heidi Ullrich:onboarding

Silvia Vivanco:A webinar is a good idea Heidi!

Maureen Hilyard:@Glenn exactly.. about the ebook version

  Glenn McKNight:four  ebooks

  Glenn McKNight:four  ebooks

Maureen Hilyard:Different versions of onboarding slides?

Heidi Ullrich:@Dev,is there also a document that suggests what orientation activities RALO leaders should take for onboarding new ALSes and individuals?

  Glenn McKNight:

Ali AlMeshal 2:@Glenn Ebook is Perfect way of the presentation

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):yes Ali a good option

  Glenn McKNight:We need more  video

  Heidi Ullrich:Did you see Rawshots?

Sarah Kiden:The rawshots is good as well

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):and options are key here along with consistency of messages,  including look and feel

  Glenn McKNight:sorry  old one

Glenn McKNight:I am volunteering  to create  video content for the Onboarding

Alfredo Calderon:@Heidi, I have seen Rawshorts.

Sarah Kiden:Though like it has already been mentioned, multiple formats (video, ICANN learn, PPT, etc) for different audiences

Alfredo Calderon:I suggest looking at Plotagon

Glenn McKNight:RAWSHORTS, GOANIMATE and VIDEOSCRIBE  is all good to explain complex ideas using animated characters

Glenn McKNight:Alfredo add your  link to the INTERNET DAYS

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):thanks Glenn I would like to learn more about those tools

Glenn McKNight:all of these require professional accounts or you get small versions, watermarks etc.

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):**very important ** Heidi

Glenn McKNight:Alfredo can you menition the great efforts on the ARIN on the Road in San Juan

Heidi Ullrich:@Olivier, that has been attempted...

Silvia Vivanco:There is an Outreach calendar which should be used

  Heidi Ullrich:At-Large Twitter:

Silvia Vivanco:you are correct Olivier, the calendars have not been used much

Maureen Hilyard:@OCL.. agree about this group coordinating all the outreach activities so we aren't reinventing the wheel..

Heidi Ullrich:The RALOs and ALSes are very active! It would to showcase.

Maureen Hilyard:APRALO hasn't organised anything yet in Abu Dhabi because we want to hear what others are doing first!

  Heidi Ullrich:good to showcase

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond:it's been cumbersome to fill the outreach calendars beause most people do not know how to update them

  Alfredo Calderon:Photos -

Alfredo Calderon:From our ARIn on the Road

Glenn McKNight:It will in our   NARALO newsletter too

Yesim Nazlar:@Glenn: please try to keep a bit more away from the mic, your audio was muffled, thank you

Heidi Ullrich:The RALO wikis are being updated by staff. Each RALO portal has an area dedicated to Outreach and Engagement (see: )

Heidi Ullrich:Key links to outreach and engagement activities, including Policy Hot Topics as they are completed and funding opportunities.

  Heidi Ullrich:+1 Cheryl

  Maureen Hilyard:@ Cheryl Definitely

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):got to go to my next call now

Maureen Hilyard:Ali is our Liaison person in the Middle East and is working with Baher..

Alfredo Calderon:We will repeat the event in October 2017 with a different focus. Save the date - October 27, 2017.

Maureen Hilyard:Lianna is our ALS outreach person for ICANN60. As we develop anything we will report

Glenn McKNight:Note  Alfredo is one of the fellows for ICANN 60

Glenn McKNight:What about repeating the  EURALO and NCUC  event

Alfredo Calderon:University community to Internet day 2016 -

Siranush Vardanyan:please, note that all Fellows' arrival date is 27th of October, they will be onsite fully on 28th of October, so if you have any activities planned starting from 28th, I would be happy to share with all Fellows and encourage their participation

Heidi Ullrich:Would suggest also asking Adam re outreach to academic institutions and civil society

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond:Thanks Siranush - it is very helpful to know when the fellows wil be available So that we do NOT set-up an outreach event when the fellows have not arrived yet, like EURALO did with NCUC in Copenhagen

  Siranush Vardanyan:_ 1 Olivier

  Siranush Vardanyan:+ 1

Silvia Vivanco:APRALO Outreach and Engagement Sub Committee:
