GAC input on draft Recommendations of ccNSO Framework of Interpretation Working Group Interim Report on revocation (was: unconsented re-delegation) 

Summary

The ccNSO has established a working group, in which the GAC participates, on the interpretation of existing policy for the delegation and re-delegation of ccTLD’s. This ccNSO Framework of Interpretations WG (ccNSO FoI WG) has developed a draft set of recommendations on revocation of a ccTLD. The WG Interim Report is published on 28 October for Public comment This is one of the five topics the WG will address, which are:

• Obtaining and documenting consent
• Obtaining and documenting support from Significantly Interested Parties (Local Internet Community or LIC)
• Revocation and un-consented re-delegations
• IANA reporting on delegation and re-delegation
• Glossary of Terms 

Once all topics are addressed the recommendations (Final Report of the WG) will be submitted to the GAC to seek their support, before submitting the recommendations to the ICANN Board of Directors.

ALAC Engagement Opportunity Status

Members of the GAC participate in the FoI WG as observers and could provide feedback and input. According to the charter of the FoI WG support of the GAC is required before submission of an advice to the ICANN Board of Directors.
