APRALO Vice Chair Position
APRALO is currently seeking candidates for the open Vice-Chair position:
- Vice-Chair position for the remainder of the term of the position previously held by Fouad Bajwa (ending in March 2011)
During the APRALO extraordinary meeting on 22 June 2010 in Brussels it was decided to move the longer of the two Vice Chair positions from Leslie Allison to Fouad who will now serve for the remainder of Les' ending in March 2012. Fouad was originally elected to replace Mahmoud Lattouf and serve for the remainder of his two-year term which started in March 2009 and ending in March 2011.
Suggested Election timetable:
1. Nominations Open : July 9th, 2010
2. Nominations Close : extended until August 6th at UTC 23:59 July 23nd, 2010
3. Nomination Acceptance Deadline: moved to August 13th at UTC 23:59 July 30th, 2010
4. Voting Begins: moved to August 20th no later than August 6th, 2010
5. Voting Ends: moved to August 27th no later than August 13th, 2010 at 2359 UTC

Descriptions of Position:
According to paragraph 5.2. of the APRALO Operating Principles:
5.2 The vice-chairperson shall be selected for a period of two years from the first annual general meeting and shall assist and deputize for the Chairperson in the latter’s absence. |
Additional requirements according to call for nomination sent out by the APRALO Secretariat on July 9th.
You will be expected to accept responsibility for current ICANN consultations which will be divided by the chair and two vice chairs with the support of the Secretary. The ALAC meetings will also require APRALO presence which will be divided equally amongst the officers. |
