La Fédération Méditerranéenne des Associations d’Internet (FMAI) a été fondée le 31 Août 2007, à l’initiative de l’Association Tunisienne de l’Internet et du Multimédia (ATIM).
De par son statut, la FMAI est ouverte à toutes les associations d’Internet des pays de la Méditerranée.
Son siège est établi à Tunis par décision de l’Assemblée Générale constitutive.
Sa mission principale est d’encourager l’application du progrès technique dans le domaine des technologies de l’Information et de la Communication au progrès économique et social dans la région de la Méditerranée à travers la promotion de l’usage de l’Internet et l’élargissement de sa diffusion auprès du grand public.
Son objectif est de créer un espace numérique méditerranéen qui serait un soutien indispensable pour les espaces économique, culturel et académique de la région méditerranéenne

The Mediterranean Federation of Internet Associations (FMAI) is a young Federation founded on 31 August 2007 at the initiative of the Tunisian Association of Internet and Multimedia (ATIM).  
According to its constitution, the FMAI is open to all associations of the Mediterranean countries dealing with Internet.
Its headquarters is established in Tunis by decision of the constituent General Assembly.
Its main mission is to encourage the application of technical progress related to the Information and Communication Technology to economic and social advancement in the Mediterranean region through the promotion of the Internet use and the widening of its dissemination to the grass-roots population.
Its objective is to create a Mediterranean digital space that would be the essential and necessary support for the economy, the culture, and the academic researches in the Mediterranean region.
